Bangladesh is likely to have a new captain in Lytton Das. Tamim Iqbal retired from international cricket on Thursday after an emotional press conference in which he burst into tears.
Litton captained the Tigers the previous year when Tamim pulled out of the ODI series against India with an injury. Being also the captain of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) teams, the captaincy is nothing new for Lytton.
The hosts, meanwhile, chose Roni Talukdar instead of Tamim. Talukdar has been impressive in T20I but has yet to find his footing in the 50-over format.
Bangladesh lost the first ODI by 17 runs (DLS) after rain ruined the sport. Touhid Hridoy boldly scored half a century, but his efforts were in vain. Fazalhak Farooqi won the Man of the Match award by picking up three wickets.
