PBKS Playing XI vs MI

PBKS Playing XI vs MI: Punjab Kings suffered a disheartening loss last time out and will be hoping to bounce back when they take on the winless Mumbai Indians in Pune. Punjab was on the cusp of a victory when Rahul Tewatia pulled off a heist, with Odean Smith being the victim for the West Indies this time. Agarwal backed the all-rounder after the game, but the form of him will be a concern for the franchise. Follow live updates of IPL 2022, MI vs PBKS on CricsGuru.IN

Mayank Agarwal will have a big decision in his hands when he decides his game combination for the game against the Mumbai Indians. While Liam Livingstone and Kagiso Rabada have performed well, their other two overseas recruits, Jonny Bairstow and Odean Smith, have not lived up to their expectations.

Smith especially faces a potential sack, after he gave up 12 on the last two balls to Rahul Tewatia last time out. His hitting returns have faded as well, which means Agarwal could consider some of the other options on the team. Raj Bawa, Rishi Dhawan and Benny Howell are among the bench options for Punjab and the team management will have to make a decision on Smith’s position at full-back.

What other changes could PBKS make?

Bhanuka Rajapaksa could return to the team with perhaps an Indian all-rounder joining the team as well to contribute to the balance. The Sri Lankan was impressive in the period of him replacing Bairstow with his super attacking top-tier player, and could replace Bairstow himself, who has struggled in both games so far.

Shah Rukh Khan has been struggling to run and Rishi Dhawan could find himself in the mix. Raj Bawa seemed nervous on his debut and Rishi’s experience gives him an edge over the U-19 World Cup star to make the squad.

Punjab Kings (Full Squad): Mayank Agarwal(c), Shikhar Dhawan, Jonny Bairstow(w), Liam Livingstone, Jitesh Sharma, Odean Smith, Shahrukh Khan, Kagiso Rabada, Rahul Chahar, Vaibhav Arora, Arshdeep Singh, Benny Howell, Bhanuka Rajapaksa, Sandeep Sharma, Rishi Dhawan, Baltej Singh, Writtick Chatterjee, Prerak Mankad, Ishan Porel, Atharva Taide, Prabhsimran Singh, Harpreet Brar, Nathan Ellis, Ansh Patel, Raj Bawa.
